TrulyObscure - about

about

Truly Obscure is a Honolulu-based online publication focused on critical commentary. As of December 2005, we will begin distributing print versions on a trial basis throughout the island of Oahu. The website will be undergoing redevelopment in the fourth quarter of 2005, and completely new content and features will be added throughout our transition phase.

Founded by Greg May and Zoe Wood, Truly Obscure was founded to provide unbiased, insightful, and timely reviews on a wide array of goods and services.

Truly Obscure will discuss, evaluate, examine, inspect, judge, analyze, bat around, brush up, check out, scrutinize, analyze, appraise, investigate, assess, consider, survey, audit, and assay anything- from the Truly Obscure to the mostly mundane.

To have your product or service reviewed, please contact us at reviews@trulyobscure.com. Note that items can not and will not be returned, unless an exception is granted in writing prior to the delivery of the item in question. We frequently attempt to simulate “wear and tear” on items, and will occasionally post followups after continued use or repeat viewings/listens/tests.

Our review process typically consists of two to three separate reviewers, who will test out the product or service at least three times before coming to any conclusions. A single reviewer is then tasked with forming a consensus opinion and posting it in a timely manner. Note that there are some exceptions to this ideal- movies, for example, frequently can only be seen once before a review needs to be submitted.

Whenever possible, we will contact manufacturers with questions prior to posting a review.

Reviews and other articles will occasionally be forwarded to Associated Content for inclusion on their site.
